The Call of the Abyss

From a dark, horizonless sea, a hand emerges—or perhaps sinks—we cannot be sure. The gesture, suspended between grace and desperation, feels like a silent invocation, a final contact with the surface or the first sign of rebirth.

The painting captures a moment of emotional tension, a suspended instant where everything could shift. The heavy, foreboding sky, the consuming waters, and that hand—tattooed, human, imperfect—confront us with the ambiguity of thresholds: between sinking and surfacing, surrender and resilience.

The Call of the Abyss does not offer answers but instead invites reflection. Are we being pulled into the depths, or responding to an ancient urge to transform?
